TLV3202: Connection of Unused Pins

Genius 12760 points
Part Number: TLV3202

One of the two comparatos is not needed. Is there any recommendation on how to connect the unused pins?

  • Hello BO,

Leave the output unconnected (floating is fine).

Do not short both inputs to ground - as this can cause oscillations if the device has a low offset voltage or the internal offset drifts through zero due to changes in temperature or supply voltage.

You want to apply a slight differential voltage to the inputs (at least 2x greater than the maximum offset spec) to set the output in one state. The input voltages still need to be within the valid input voltage range.

Since it is a rail-to-rail input device, you can tie one input to V+, and the other input to V-.
