TLV9064: TLV9064 Iout not enough

Hi Sir:

I use TLV9064 for a Current sensor, But the Iout I need 0.6A. for a coil. Now i add the external transistor. Any other part number is OK? SR >10uv/s. 4 channel, TSSOP package. Of course It needs to be cheap enough.

Hi Lei,

the maximum output current (short-circuit current) of TLV9064 is +/-50mA. So, it's impossible for the TLV9064 to deliver a current of 600mA.

For a 600mA output, you'll be needing a power amplifier. The TI power op-amps can be found here:

Hi Lei,

The TLV9064 is designed and intended for cost sensitive applications. If you have found a low-cost power transistor that outputs the required current, the combined cost of the TLV9064 and power transistor will almost certainly be less than that of a dedicated power op amp.

Most of the TI power op amps that can produce a 0.6 Ampere output current have a slew rate that is lower than 10 V/us. The exceptions being the OPA548 at 10 V/us, and the OPA564 at 20 V/us. If your application can accept their cost, one or the other should work well in the application.
