OPA2348-Q1: How to calculate the worst-case output error of this amplifier?

Hi team,

Could you please give some guidance about how to calculate the worst-case output error of this amplifier? Besides the accuracy of peripheral resistors, what parameters should be taken into consideration? How to use these parameters to calculate the output error of the amplifier? Thanks a lot.

Hi Arie,

The major error sources in an amplifier will be due to offset voltage (Vos), input bias current (Ib), common mode rejection (CMRR), power supply rejection (PSRR), and open loop gain (Aol). Offset voltage will likely cause the largest amount of error. Unless you are using very large resistors or have a very high impedance sensor connected to the input, in which case input bias current can have a large contribution especially over temperature.

I recommend watching out TI Precision Lab videos on Vos/Ib, CMRR, and PSRR. These videos will show you how to calculate the output error due to each of these error sources.
