INA193: Supply voltage (V+) is not present but Vin+ input is given?

Hello Guys,

Good day.

In our customers application, they are using the INA193 in measuring the current that is flowing out of battery. However the Vin+ is always present whereas supply(V+) is not always present in their application.

Is this okay? Will this damage the IC? Also, can you let me know what wlll be the current consumption when Vin+ present and no V+ ?

How about the current consumption when V+ not present and Vin+ present?

As stated, IC can handle the situation with no damage but regarding current consumption can you give much more info please?

Regarding current flow into the device, there will be resistive pathways through the inputs, so current flow will still exist. That said, without power being provided to the device, I can't say with certainty where these values will fall.

We did perform some testing around some other devices in this application report that focused on current through the devices when power is removed from the device via FET. Unfortunately, the INA193 was not tested for this report, but this may provide some insight into how the devices will respond in this situation.
