INA215: What is the difference between INA215AIDCKR and INA215CIDCKR?

Part Number: INA215

Hi all,

My customer have a question as the subject above.

What is the difference between INA215AIDCKR and INA215CIDCKR?

INA215CIDCKR is little more expensive than INA215AIDCKR.

Is it okay to use INA215AIDCKR? they are very sensitive to price.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Chase,

This letter in the reference designator signifies which version of the device this is. There are three versions (A, B, and C), which are functionally equivalent, but have minor differences in some various specs, so I would caution you to make sure that your customer can live with these differences. For example, the different versions are tested to different ESD parameters:

There are also some differences in common mode voltage specification, gain error, and a few additional parameters, so I would review the datasheet with the customer to ensure they select the right device. The most important specification regarding version A is the that their ESD cells are more sensitive as demonstrated above, so ensure the customer knows about this. If they are expecting they may see large transients in the system, the B or C versions may be more suitable here:

  • Hi Carolus,

Thank you for your reply. I will explain it to my customer. Thanks.
