Linux/AM3352: Kernel boot issue

Hi All,

First Version:

We have made a customised board with AM3352 processor, 1GB DDR3 and 512MB NAND flash. On our First version customised board we have made the setup working due to some hardware issue in the Ethernet section we have gone for the  second version.  We made SD Card booting done in first revision. 

SYSBOOT :  0000001000110011 - NAND   NANDI2C  MMC0  UART0

Second Version:

We have made a customised board with AM3352 processor, 1GB DDR3 and 8GB eMMC flash. This is our second revision customised Board. Changes are done in Ethernet section and changed from NAND Flash to eMMC Flash. 

SYSBOOT :  0000000000110111  - MMC0   SPI0  UART0   USB0

But when we are using the same setup the Booting Hangs in Starting Kernel....  . 


What can be the issue ?

Any changes has to be done in U-boot or kernel?

  • What Linux version are you using? Where is the eMMC connected? Do you still boot from SD card on the second board?

    eMMC is connected to MMC1

    SD card is connected to MMC0

  • Also, stopping your boot at "Starting kernel..." usually indicates erroneous dtb. Can you also share the old & the new version of your dts?

    You should change the dts file to match your new board, that is reflect the hardware changes:

    What changes has to be done in DTB. In our second revision boards we enabled the eMMC flash section. 

    Can you provide any sample DTB for the eMMC enabled DTB files.

  • The dts seems ok. Can you confirm that you haven't modified anything else in your board (some power supply or something like that)?

    Can you enable the early debug prints in menuconfig:
