TLV320AIC3120EVM-U: Communications Error, how can i connect it?

I'm sorry you're having trouble connecting your device. Here are a few things I recommend trying:

1. If the device is a shared PC, log out the other users or restart the machine. Some of the EVM control programs do not function correctly if another user was logged in on the machine and didn't close the EVM software before locking the computer.

2. Make sure that the jumper configuration is correct. Jumper descriptions can be found on page 13 of the EVM user guide.

The PC is only for me.

Rebooted the PC and tested. -> X

I tested it on another PC. -> X

I bought an EVB yesterday and connected it for the first time, but it doesn't work.

The jumper settings are correct.

Is there any other way? What should I do?

Hmm, if using the board with another PC didn't work then we can narrow the problem to three different things:

1. The EVM itself.

2. The USB cable.

3. Software compatibility (maybe some kind of interference from antivirus etc. on the systems).

Would you be able to try using a different USB cable?

- I have already tested with another cable.

  This is a cable that works normally on other boards.

- I also tested it on another PC. The other PC is a laptop with nothing installed on it.

It's a new product I bought a few days ago, but it's disappointing that it doesn't work.

The problem may be an issue with Windows compatibility. According to the part product page, the device is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7. The program does seem to work fine on my system running Windows 10.

However, since the software does not have explicit support for Windows 11, could you try right-clicking the application, opening the properties window, and changing the compatibility mode setting to "Windows 7"?

Changing Windows Compatibility is something i've already done.

But it didn't work.

Do the amber LEDs near the pushbuttons at the bottom of the board light up when the board is connected?

Edit: My apologies, I can see that they are in the photo you posted above.

In that case, would it be possible to test the EVM using an older install of Windows? We could also try updating the board firmware, though the firmware appears to have been removed from the TI page regarding this product. I'll see if I can find it.

I've just tested the EVM software on a Windows 11 machine and found that the software does not work (even with compatibility mode), with the same symptoms you are experiencing. I suspect this may be the problem.

Other Windows versions are not available.

I tried it in the link you gave me, but an error occurs in the driver.

I've tried several times, but an error occurs in the DFUUSB driver.

So I can't download the firmware.

The following article also says that the error occurs on Windows 10 (64-bit).

And this method is not applicable to TLV320AIC3120.

Hmm... If mentioned the usage environment in document, I wouldn't have bought it...
