PCM4222: PCM4222 Simple Reset Circuit

Part Number: PCM4222

Tool/software:

Is an external RC (10000pF and 10kOhm) needed for a simple power on reset circuit external to the PCM4222. I have no microprocessor or reset switch on the design. If an external RC is needed then do I need to use schmitt trigger devices or is there one on the internal reset circuitry? Could I just use a pull-up resistor on the reset input and let the internal circuitry do the rest?

  • Hi,

Apologies for the delay, I will share an update on this thread with a response within the next couple of days.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi,

My understanding is that instead of using an external I/O to provide the reset, rather the idea is to use a pull-up resistor to the device supply (and maybe an additional cap to GND), please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Based on datasheet, there are a couple of requirements mentioned for the device reset functionality:

    1) The minimum duration recommended for reset is 40ns:

    2) Before reset is released, the Master clock to the device should be enabled

The datasheet also mentions the VIH/VIL voltage for determining whether device digital input is in logic low or high state.

    Thanks and Regards,
