Testing AES/EBU to I2S Converter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SRC4190

I have designed an AES/EBU to I2S converter using CS8164 as the digital audio receiver and SRC4190 as a sampling rate converter to give 192kHz/24 bits at the out. I wish to find out how I can test the design with an input of 44.1kHz and 48 kHz.

Kind regards

Sidney

  • Hi Sidney,

This relies on many factors of your design, but the major points for the SRC4190 is that either the input or output can be a master but only one at a time. And for a master port, the sampling frequency will be determined by what the SCKI frequency is and with that what ratio you select using the mode pins.

  • Hello Justin,

Thanks for your reply. I am using the SRC4190 input as a slave. My problem with the testing is which source can I use at the AES/EBU input for testing of the design fulfills the requirement of 192kHz/24 bits, that is to visualize the clock SCK, WS and Data

    Kind regards

  • Hi Sidney,

I'm still a little confused on what you are asking for. Are you asking for test equipment that can generate or receive AES/EBU signals? We us Audio Precision test equipment.
