Hello
Thank you for your support.
Customer intends to use PCM1795 for their new design.
So, please advise.
Q1
Customer use PCM1795 Mono Mode.
Customer want to tie together the in phase signal(L+/R+,L-/R-) and input to one I/V OP-amp using MONO mode.
Do you think it is available ( but customer's own risk?). ..... please kindly check customer's PPT drawing .
Customer is concerned about any damage for DAC itself, degrade of electrical characteristics of DAC itself.
Ideally, current source is high-Z,so I think it is no problem, but please advise.
Q2
When customer use 2 chip PCM1795 in same register seting in same MCLK, the delay from digital input to analog ( current) output
is same?
The delay from digital input to analog( current) output is different depend on each device?
Customer want to have manage delay within 1/fs.
How do you think?
Best Regards
Hi Shibatani-san,
Q1. I think this configuration would be fine. I believe they desire to do this to operate in mono-mode, but save cost by not implementing the trans-impedance amplifier for both channels. I do not foresee any issues. Note that they cannot use the "mono-mode" registers in setting in this configurations, as the channels would approximately cancel each other. They will need to make sure the data I2S data for each of the two channels in the device is the same.
Q2. Assuming the exact same MCLK is applied, I would expect the delay to be the same. But I will caution that the delay is typical value in the specification, so it not guaranteed. I would just recommend that they make sure both devices are powered before applying MCLK.
Thanks,
Paul
