CDCI6214EVM: EVM Output Frequency not accurate

Part Number: CDCI6214EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

EVM producing Fout about 6% off expected.  125Mhz is 114, 100Mhz is 94Mhz.

Assumed possibly related to PPL, so hit re-cal, but now Fout = 113.5 and 90Mhz.

repeated quick start procedure and now as soon as evm reset to default config, device no longer detected on I2C bus. push power on button and says device not found.

any advice?

  • Hi Carl,

When it says 'device not found', please go to Ticspro -> 'USB communications' tab -> interface. Check 'USB2ANY'. Make sure that a valid device identifier is selected. Hit 'Identify' and you should see a green LED on EVM blinking. After the device is identified, go back to the GUI and turn on the power.

Make sure that the registers are loaded after the DUT Power says "PWR on". Hit Ctrl + L to load all registers. You should be able to see accurate output after that.

Note that if you are using HCSL output, you need to populate 50Ohm to ground otherwise there won't be any output.
