LMK03318: Single-ended LVCMOS outputs

Hi Team,

Need some clarifications on LMK03318 single-ended outputs. In section 7 (pin configurations), the pin function of clock outputs 0-7 are described as: “Differential/LVCMOS output pair. Programmable driver with differential or 2 x 1.8V LVCMOS outputs.” Is this saying that the LVCMMOS outputs can only be configured for a voltage level of 1.8V?

Our customer wants the voltage level of the single ended LVCMOS output clocks to be 2.5V. Other places in the datasheet says the outputs can be 2.5V, but this pin description somewhat gives confusion. Can you help us clarify?

    Hi Jejomar,

    If you refer to table 8.12 note 2 in the datasheet, it indicates that the LVCMOS outputs are configured only for 1.8 V:

    "The 1.8-V LVCMOS driver supports rail-to-rail output swing only when powered from VDDO = 1.8 V +/- 5% (recommended VDDO for use with LVCMOS output format). VOH level is NOT rail-to-rail for VDDO = 2.5 V or 3.3 V due to the dropout voltage of the output channel’s internal LDO regulator."
