My customer is evaluating LMK05318EVM. I would like to run Ref=100kHz,XO=16.8MHz,output=16.8MHz and then sync between ref and output.

Hi Hironori,
Please download Ticspro. Go to "select device" -> Network synchronizers -> LMK05318. There's a more user friendly wizard in LMK05318B. It can also be used to generate configuration for LMK05318. You just need to select "backward compatible" in the first wizard page.

Hao

Hi Hao Z,
Thank you for reply.
This picture is the wizard of "LMK05318B".
We evaluate "LMK05318" EVM.
Please tell me the difference between LMK05318 and LMK05318B.
When we evaluate LMK05318EVM, can we select LMK05318B for target device in TICS PRO ?
Hi,
Please see this post for details: https://e2e.ti.com/support/clock-and-timing/f/48/t/920237?tisearch=e2e-quicksearch&keymatch=LMK05318B
You can still use LMK05318 GUI, but alternatively, you can use the new wizard for LMK05318B and choose "backward compatible".

Hao
Hi,
Thank you for your advice.
However,we still can't lock LMK05318 in ref=100kHz & output=16.8MHz.
Please confirm attachment excel, answer the following questions.
(1)Is connection diagram(③) correct?
We estimate the EVA Board in ③.
(2)In setting C or setting D(④),LMK05318 isn't locked.
Please tell me the recommended settings.05318QA.xlsx
Hi there,
Sorry I just found that there's a software bug in the LMK05318B "backward compatible" mode and the DPLL_LOFL cannot be cleared. For LMK05318B chips, there's no problem using the new GUI. But for the non-B version, please use the old GUI for now. We'll fix the new GUI asap.
Regards,
Hao
