LMX2572EVM: Ramp Generation

Part Number: LMX2572EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2572

Dear Sir

I have tried the example of Automatic Ramping without calibration, given in your LMX2572 Eval PDF. I have few queries:

1.   The RST is left unchecked , this causes my frequency band shifts in every attempt whenever I update - "Write all Registers". Is the RST should be left unchecked ,or RST for either of Ramp0 or Ramp1 should be checked.(Page.8)

2.   How to get that frequency vs time plot as given in your Eval pdf . is some special instrument or application is needed for the same. (Page.8)

3.   The Threshold limit as suggested in the example is 16777216, but it doesn't remains same and gets changed to 7549746 whenever the Registers are updated. (Page.8)

Waiting a reply .

Thanks

Neha

  • Hi Neha,

Q1. I don't understand, in ramp operation, why Write all Registers? RST is used whenever the end frequency of the current ramp is not equal to the start frequency of the next ramp. For example, if you ramp from A to B and then A to B again, you need to have RST checked.

Q2. We use E5052 transient mode to take frequency vs time measurement

Q3. What registers did you update?
