LMK04228: How to make 38.4Mhz..?

Part Number: LMK04228
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCLVP1102, LMK04610, LMK04616

I am trying to get 38.4Mhz as input and make 38.4Mhz as two outputs. i will make just repeater

However, the frequency that can be made using TICS PRO is 38.4615384615Mhz. please help me ToT

  • Hello Kim,

To obtain a 38.4 MHz output at SDCLKout1 output from a 38.4 MHz CLKin0/1 input, you can set the VCO frequency to 2611.2 MHz. You can do so by setting the N Prescaler to 2 and N Divider to 34 (this will set your total integer divider to 68). Then, on your outputs tab, uncheck the SDCLKout1_PD check box to disable power down and set your SYSREF divider to 68. I have included my TICS Pro file for reference and included screenshots of my set-up as well.

However, if your goal is to duplicate your input at your output, I would recommend you use a buffer. One of the buffers we have, the CDCLVP1102, has low jitter and an LVPECL output that matches your frequency requirements. If you would rather use a higher performance jitter cleaner, I would recommend you use TI's LMK04610 or LMK04616 in distribution mode to serve as a buffer, meet your frequency and output type requirements, and it should duplicate your input at your output.

If this has not answered your question, please make sure to include your TICS pro file (.tcs) to your reply so I can better help you.

    Good luck,

    Andrea
