LMX2592: about Revision History

Guru 11170 points
Part Number: LMX2592

Hello E2E,

Please let me know about the Revision History contents.
At the new revision, this device has many changed and added points for register.

I understand that these changes are different depending on when the device was purchased. Is this correct?
How can I see which devices have newer revisions? Can it be distinguished by the stamp on the package?

Best regards,
ACGUY

  • Hi ACGUY,

We did not change the silicon, we've only revised the datasheet to reflect the true behavior and provide updated usage suggestion.

If there is a silicon change, we will issue a PCN for those customers who have purchased the device.

  • Is it necessary to change the firmware of the MCU?

  • Hi ACGUY,

I assume you meant software or the configuration settings. That depends, for example, datasheet suggests avoid setting CP_ICORASE = 1 or 3, it is up to the customer's decision whether to follow the suggestion or not.

  • Hi Noel,

Customers are already using this device in volume production. Depending on whether the Lot at the time of purchase is the new revision or the old revision, I think that the S/W revision must also be changed. Please tell me how to distinguish them by appearance.

    and,
The control item "PFD_CTL" is as follows.
     R13[9:8] in Rev.F
     R13[1:0] in Rev.G
Which one is correct when using these?

    Best regards,
    ACGUY

  • Hi ACGUY,

As I told you before, there is NO change in silicon. Since customer are already in production without issue, the customer should check the revision history of the datasheet to determine if the changes have real conflict to their design and it is up to the customer's decision to update their software/hardware or not.

Rev. G datasheet has corrected the position of PFD_CTL bits.
