How to configure LMK5B33414

 

Hi team,

 

Please advise me on my problem.

 

Using the DPLL1, I try to output 30 MHz clocks on OUT0 and Out1 port,

from a 30 MHz reference clock on REF0 input.

In the meantime,  using thew DPLL2, I want to output 30 MHz clocks on OUT4

and OUT5 port, synchronizing to a 15 MHz reference clock.

 

Following the instruction on the LMK5B33414EVM User's Guide, I set the TICSPRO

as bellow.

DLPP1 VCO was set to 960 MHz(Quarter of 4800 MHz), however, DPLL2 VCO was to

a strange value as 3480.46875 MHz (Expected frequency may be 5760 MHz)

 

Please advise me to correct DPLL2 VCO frequency.

  • Hi Mita,

    These should state the correct VCO frequencies when configure properly (4800 MHz for VCO1 and 5760 MHz for VCO2).

    I noticed you use the divider with the XO for the rPLL1&2 reference. In this case, you can bypass the divider to keep 48 MHz for PDF or bypass + doubler to increase PDF which provide advantage in output noise floor.

    In your DPLL1&2 setting (Step 3), looks like you're using Manual Fallback which seems to cause the issue that TICS Pro couldn't calculate the proper settings for DPLL1&2. Can you try other options?

    When you apply these 4 buttons, it would state the error in the log window. Let me know which error shown with these steps.

    Thank you for your advise.

    I could fixmy problem.

    Follwing your advcie, I have put check marks  on the "Bypss Dividor" and "DBLR" for the PLL1, PLL2 and PLL3.

    I also chenged the input mode from "Manual Fallback" to "Auto Reverive" for the DPLL1 nad DPLL2.

    When I clicked the four buttons, I did not see any error message.

    Then all outpus were programmed as I intended.

    When I chose the input select mode as "Manual Hold over",  instead of "Manual Fallback",

    Python error was reported.

    I attached the modified (good)  .tcs file.

    Good to hear it's working for you.

    I have noted the error with "Manual Holdover" or "Manual Fallback" to investigate further.
