BQ32000: Total power loss indicator

Part Number: BQ32000

Hi Team,

Is there an indicator that the chip has experienced a total power loss situation? i.e. if the BQ32000 looses Vcc and Vback, is there any bit that is flipped in the local registers, or any way to tell if the clock may be out of time?

Thanks for you help!

  • Hi Sam,

After a total power loss (both Vcc and Vback are lost) all registers will be set to the default values. If you change any bits in the CAL_CFG1, TCH, or CAL_CFG2 registers you could compare the programmed values vs. the initial startup value and see if there's any difference. Another option is to check the oscillator fail (OF) bit since the default value is 1 but it is usually cleared to 0 by the user at startup.

    Regards,

    Connor
