TLC555-Q1: Monostable operation

Part Number: TLC555-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC555, TLV313

Hello

With TLC555, is it possible detect rising edge of the signal ?

Can somebody verify the TLC555 portion of the schematic used for generating a sq pulse of duration around 630ms.

Simulation snip is attached.

  • The logic behind the circuit is, when we get a 12V in pulse form, of frequency 1.5Hz, we need to stop/disable some other function.

  • Hi Anoop,

The 555 portion of the schematic is operating correctly with an output pulse of ~630ms. Of course, the exact output width will be dependent on the tolerance of your RC components at the discharge pin.

The rest of your circuit also appears to work as intended. The 10kΩ and 10μF RC is large enough to "smooth out" the pulsed output of the 555 resulting in a consistent high level input to your TLV313 comparator.

You may want to post your circuit to the General-Purpose Amplifiers team to analyze the TLV313 portion of the schematic. They will be able to provide recommendations on TLV313 operating as a comparator. It may be prudent to add some series resistance to the TLV inputs to prevent electrical overstress during power-on and power-off.
