LMK61I2-100M: OSC performance with different distance?

Part Number: LMK61I2-100M

Tool/software:

hi sir

I need to generator a signal of OSC to DUT

May i know how long distance will Result in the OSC performance

likes the reflection issue?

thanks

  • Hello,

The maximum signal length depends on the clock output format, frequency, and PCB materials / layer stackup. As a general rule of thumb, I'd say in most use cases traces can be up to 6-10 inches long without any issues assuming they are carefully impedance matched to avoid reflections. If the signal will be routed through a coax cable (such as an SMA cable), then the total distance from OSC to DUT can be longer since those cables can be less lossy compared to PCB traces. Most PCB design software should also allow you to run a signal integrity simulation with your specific board design and the device's IBIS model to see how the waveform is affected after including transmission line effects. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,

    Connor
