Hi
We are developing a board using LMX2592 chip. what is the recommendation for PCB layout. how many layers are recommended, PCB material and trace thickness.
Regards
P Prasanth
Hi Prasanth,
The LMX2952EVM uses a 4-layer board thus at a minimum I would recommend that as well.
Traces need to be impedance controlled to 50Ohm - the answer to your question really varies depending on layer stackup.
You can find Gerbers & Altium file for the EVM board as reference for your use here: (+) LMX2592EVM Gerber file and Waveform of output - Clock & timing forum - Clock & timing - TI E2E support forums

Hi
Thank you for replying.
could you please tell me range of RFOUTAP& RFOUTAM as well RFOUTBP& RFOUTBM.
Regards
P Prasanth
Hi Prasantj,
RFout max is 9.8GHz for both outputs.

Hi
Then I want to terminate 50ohm resistor to RF_OUTBP and RF_OUTBM as well RF_OUTAM. and can i use only RF_OUTAP as an output?
one more thing can i use Linux driver for LMX2592 by adding driver to petalinux environment. or else we do our own program using registers?
Regards
P Prasanth
Hi Pradanth,
Yes you can use one output SE.
Correct termination for unused pins are in DS.
If you use a Linux driver to program it’ll be up to you to figure out how to implement.
TICSpro GUI can export a .txt file with data payload info for your driver.

Vicente
