Hello,

Please answer following question form customer.

Customer wants to use 1 second period pulse output from TCAL terminal.

He does not need watchdog so he wants to connect DONE terminal to GND.

Please advise if TCAL terminal outputs 1 second period pulse (and pulse width is 15.625ms typ as specified on the datasheet) when DONE is connected to GND.

Datasheet P10 has following explanation but I can’t have confidence of TCAL behavior.

Connecting the DONE pin either to GND or to TCAL pin disables the watchdog feature.

If connected to GND, the TPL5000 only sends a reset pulse when the time delay elapses.

Hello Toshio,

if you connect the DONE signal to GND, the TPL5000 will send out RSTn signal and TCAL signal according to the programmed period. The width of the TCAL is 15.625ms.

If you connect the DONE signal to TCAL, than TPL5000 will send 1RSTn signal after the programmed delay from the Power ON and and then WAKE signals according to the programmed delay.

So in your case you need to connect the DONE to GND.
