Is it usual that the oscillator is running at about 70°C with room temperature of 20°C with only a LMK04828 as load?

Are you using a thermal imaging camera to measure the hottest spot on the die, or a thermocouple on the top of the package?

What is the PCB temp under the oscillator?

Did you follow the PCB layout guidelines and thermal considerations in the dataheet?

We use a thermal imaging camera.

The temperature at the bottom side of the PCB is about 50°C.

The layout is quit similar to the Figure 18 in the datasheet. But what's shown there is not a good thermal connection. If the GND pin is important for cooling I would place the vias around the pin.

So as conclusion it's normal that the LMK61A2 heats up more than a usual oscillator and cooling has to be taken in account more than usual.
