LMK04616: About SWRST and Device Startup function.

Part Number: LMK04616

Hi all.

If we do the following, LMK04616 all outputs stop. I attached the TICSpro picture.
-We press the Soft Reset button during normal operation, and the outputs of the device stop.
-We set "Device start" after that, the all output of LMK04616 stop and  the current consumption does not rise(equal to soft reset state value).

Please tell me the reason.

Best Regards
Sho

  • Hi Sho
Let me check that in the LAB. I get back to you very soon.

  • Hi Puneet-san

    Thank you for your support.
    I am waiting your response.

  • Hello Ogane-san
Soft RESET is not working properly. I confirmed this behavior with the designer. We are going to remove Software reset from the datasheet. Can customer use the pin reset or they need a workaround for software reset?

  • Hi Puneet-san

    Thank you for your reply.
I will confirm that customer use the pin reset. Is pin reset RESETN?
If they can use pin reset, does the LMK04616 start correct operation?

Sorry, I don't understand about Soft Reset function yet.
Please tell me the function of soft reset.

    Best Regards,
    Sho

  • Hello Ogane-san,
SWRST does the device reset but does not clear the SPI programmed registers. Pin reset will clear the registers.
Please check with the customer if they can live with Pin reset.

  • Hi Puneet-san

    Thank you for your reply.

    >>SWRST does the device reset but does not clear the SPI programmed registers.
Q1 : Sorry simple question, for example what point does SWRST reset in device?

    >>Pin reset will clear the registers.
Q2 : Does the resister become default value after pin reset?

  • Hello Ogane-san,
    Here are my comments:
    >>SWRST does the device reset but does not clear the SPI programmed registers.
Q1 : Sorry simple question, for example what point does SWRST reset in device?
PS: There is no software reset necessary. After the registers are programmed and DEV_STARTUP is set to 1, startup sequence is executed by the digital state machines. Please refer to the "Figure 49. Simplified Power-Up Sequence" in the datasheet.

    >>Pin reset will clear the registers.
Q2 : Does the resister become default value after pin reset?
PS:Registers are reset to their default values.
    Best regards
