BQ32002: Crystal load capacitance

Hello all,

Why is the typical application of BQ32002 without crystal load capacitance?But Recommended Operating Conditions is 12pF.

We used the PT7C433833 P2P, and the PT7C433833 datasheet requires external capacitors.If bq32002 also adds a capacitor, does it have an effect on the RTC clock? Thank you.

    Hi Vickers,

    The BQ32002 has an internal load capacitance of 12pF. This is seen a single cap between OSCI and OSCO.

    This means the BQ32002 does not need the external capacitors C1 and C2 listed in the PT7C433833 datasheet.

    If you put the BQ32002 in, and leave C1 and C2, there will be ~14pF of load on the crystal. This will pull the crystal frequency slightly, and start-up could be slower.
