How can I connect an HSDS 4mA or 8mA (out clk from LMK04616) to DAC38RF83 that can receive ecl\lvpecl ?

Can I connect them with AC couple only or I need resistor termination?

At the data sheet of DAC38rf83 I have an example of only of ecl and pecl. I need to connect the LMK04616 to those inputs as DACCLK and SYSREF

 

 

  • I assumed you were looking at figure 69 of DAC38RF83. It appears that DAC38RF83 has an internal 100 ohm termination resistor. In this case, you can AC-couple LMK04616 output.

    Based on the Vcom specification in the datasheet, a resistor bias might also be required to set the common mode to 0.5V. However, based on Figure 69, the common mode level would be zero volts, unless there is an internal bias not shown. 

    If you have specific questions about DAC38RF83, I recommend to submit a new E2E post so that it can be assigned to the responsible team.

    There is internal 0.5v bias. and 100ohs deferential termination.

    So, I need to AC couple (0.1u).

    Do I need RESISTOR termination serial\parallel?

    No additional resistor termination is required. Once the HSDS signal is AC-coupled, the DAC internal termination is all you need.
