LMX2571EVM: USB2ANY Bricked. Stuck in bootstrap mode. How do I reflash it?

Part Number: LMX2571EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Using TICS Pro w/ LMX2571EVM.  Running on Windows inside a VirtualBox VM, which means I have to manually attach USB devices to the VM after plugging them in.

TICS Pro says my USB2ANY firmware is out of date and needs to be updated.  So I initiate the procedure.  Press and hold the button, unplug USB, plug USB back in, re-attach it to the VM (while still holding the button), then let go.  TICS Pro says it's ready to start downloading.  So I press the start download button.  After a moment, I hear the Windows USB disconnect sound, and it says firmware update has failed.

Now neither TICS Pro nor CodeLoader4 will recognize my USB2ANY device, and my OS now reports it as a "Texas Instruments MSP430 USB HID Bootstrap Loader [0109]".  Prior to this, it wasn't saying "Bootstrap Loader" in the device description.

How do I recover the USB2ANY from this state, and reflash it properly?  And is it possible to do it from inside a VM, because finding an actual Windows computer for this task is a significant impediment right now.

Thank you very much for your help!
