LMK62E2-100M: What does negative VDD mean in Specification/Absolute Maximum Ratings of the oscillator?

Part Number: LMK62E2-100M

Hi

I have seen the datasheet of the LMK. I have pasted the rating picture below.

I would like to know what does negative VDD mean. How will the oscillator behave if I give the min ratings in compared to Recommended operating conditions?

  • Hi Sairam,

Absolute maximum ratings are meant to let you know where is the limit the the device won't be damaged. For example 3.6V might be operational and perform, might be operational and not perform, or might not be operational at all, but 3.6V will not damage the device. Should you bring it back down to the specified 3.3V +/-10% that's where the device will be operational and perform per the specification table.

If you go outside of the absolute maximum ratings, you can potentially damage the device and it might not be recoverable.

The oscillator does not turn on and operate until you reach 3.135V. So the minimum Vdd in the absolute maximum rating table is the minimum voltage supply pins should be exposed to, below that level device might be damaged.

    Thanks and regards,

    Amin

  • Hi Amin,

    Thanks for the explanation.

    Thanks and Regards,
