LMH1983: Several questions for LMH1983

Part Number: LMH1983

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask LMH1983?

■Question1■

During one or two years, did LMH1983 have any design change?

If you have design change like as - process change, test programming change or assembly line, could you share us these?

As the back ground of this question, please refer to followings;

<Back ground>

One of our customers,

・They keeps using LMH1983 with Always Align mode for their products.

  They don't have any design change on their boards in the past decade.

・There was no especially problem, however it occurs some trouble to use Always Align mode during one or two years.

 (Trouble is the picture is distorted using their product. It causes jitter by Always Align mode.)

  And then, they change the mode from Always Align mode to Auto Align mode, the trouble disappears.

・As their mention;

  -FPGA doesn't have any design change.

  -The board(layout, connector, RC,,,) doesn't have any design change.

  -Input reference for LMH1983 is very high quality.

->They doubt whether LMH1983' Electrical Characteristics changed or not.

■Question2■

Do you have the roadmap for new device for LMH1983?

Especially, I would like to know if there are plans to release a product that improves the PLL3 problem.

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Hirotaka-san,

    LMH1983 has not had any design changes in a long time. I will double check, but I suspect there's 5+ years without any design change if not more. If Auto aligned works for them, can they stick to using it?

    With regards to question 2, there are no new roadmap devices fully in the mold of LMH1983 for professional audio/video EE. We have other PLL based devices that have much better phase noise performance but they're used as clock generator, jitter cleaner, and network synchronizers.

    Thanks and regards,

    Amin

  • Amin san

    Thank you so much for your cooperation!

    If Auto aligned works for them, can they stick to using it?
    ->They keep using LMH1983 with Auto aligned as long as it disappears trouble.

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto
