LMK04208: Input Clock Specifications

Part Number: LMK04208

Hi,

I have been looking at the specifications of the entry-level clock (CLKinX), and a question has arisen:

Apart from the slew rate, frequency and voltage specs, are there any recommendations or specs on the waveform (sine, square) or on the duty cycle in the case of square?. I will probably need to use a signal with a duty cycle above 50%.

Regards,

Alberto

  • Hello Alberto,

For CLKinX the requirements are not so critical for duty cycle.  However anytime you use a doubler, for example on the OSCin, you want your duty cycle to be close to 50%.  Naturally you would want to properly RF terminate your input.

Square waves typically make meeting the slew rate easier, although at higher frequency sine waves have no issue either.

    Hope that helps.
