LM555: design review

Part Number: LM555

Hi,

Could you please help to check below circuit is ok or not?

  • Jim,

I don't see a method of triggering the the Trig pin to gnd to make the output go high in the monostable mode. I have put together a simulation. See TINA simulation attached as TSC file. Can you check my resistor values for your circuit as well? They are difficult to determine in the attached image. The switch in the simulation turns on after 1 second, then off at 1.1 seconds. The output will stay high based on the chosen R and C plus any tolerances on the components. COG/NPO caps are generally recommended. Depends on the tolerance you will require. In the case shown below the output will stay high for roughly 5 seconds. LM555 Monostable.TSC
