connecting LMX2594 throuh TICS-PRO

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, LMX2595, LMX2594, LMK61PD0A2, LMX2594EVM, CODELOADER

Hello, we have a custom RF-SoC board. According to user guide of board, we are be able to program LMX2594 with TICS PRO software. we tried many things to connect the LMX2595 but TICS PRO says device not connected.  Do we need to use a special hardware like USB2ANY interface adapter in this case?

  • Hello Ihsan,

You should have also received a reference pro board with the LMX2594EVM kit.  This contains an MSP430 running the USB2ANY software along with an LMK61PD0A2 device to provide a reference to the LMX2594.

When you connect the USB cable to the reference pro, if the USB2ANY is not detected in TICS Pro, you may need to re-flash the Reference Pro board.  To do this hold down the Firmware update while connecting the USB cable to the reference pro while TICS Pro is running.  Ideally a window should pop-up allowing you to re-flash the Reference Pro board.

If this does not work, there is another tool which can be used to flash the USB2ANY onto the Reference Pro.  It is included with our older CodeLoader software.  If about does not work, install www.ti.com/.../CODELOADER  and then run the program USB2ANY Firmware Loader.exe located in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\CodeLoader 4\bin

This will allow you to flash USB2ANY software v2.7 onto the reference pro.

  • Hello Timothy,

thank you for your reply. but we did not buy LMX2594EVM kit. we bought a custom board with LMX2594 on it for ADC clocks. In this case should i just simply connect my board with usb or should i buy another component like USB2ANY adapter to connect to LMX2594 on my custom board?

    Thank you.

    Regards

    ihsan.

  • Hi Ihsan,

Yes, if you purchase the USB2ANY from the TI store, that should get you going.
