ADC12DJ5200RFEVM: ADC12DJ5200RFEVM FT_error

Part Number: ADC12DJ5200RFEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSW14J57EVM

Just biught a second EVM (first one did not work), now  When starting the ADCxxDJxx00RF EVM GUI, I get an error:

i tried ti reatart PC, ADC board, but still get teh same error. It is connected to TSW EVM which works fine, and connects.

please advise,

thanks

Gaurav

  • OK, so after i power down and restart both EVMs several time, I can get rid of the above erro and read a few things through the ADC gui. However I still cannot get the ADC EVM to communicate with the FPGA (TSW) EVM. See following error:

    - I can read the temprature through ADC GUI.

    - Clocks are verified to be 5.2G going to J10 (Dev CLK) and 260MHz into J17 (ref CLK), each with about 1.6V swing.

D3 still is red and D4 doesnt blink.

  • Hi Gaurav,

    1. Can you send the screen shot of the front page of the GUI with the setting you are using the program the ADC?

    2. Can you please make sure jumper labeled J13 REFSEL is installed on the EVM.

    3. Please make sure the current limit for ADC evm is set to 3A and TSW14J57EVM is set to min of 5A.

Also just clarify are are able to communicate with ADC EVM with ADC12DJ5200EVM gui?

    Regards,

    Neeraj

  • Hi Neeraj,

We bought a second ADC EVM, tried it and it works fine. I was able to capture the signals using the ADC EVM and TSW board.

Can we please return the original ADC board? Refund is better but I'm okay with a replacement .

    thanks for your help,

    Gaurav

  • Hi Gaurav,

I am glad you were able to get the second board to work.

If you bought the EVM from a distributor, you will have to work with them to get a replacement/return. If you bought it from the TI Store, the following link has the details and a link to the form to start the return process.  Once you are on the returns and refunds page of the TI Store look for the hyperlink which says: TI store customer support form.
