Hi, 

I need advice to select a part and EVM. 

I am looking for a prototype LIDAR system. Minimum ADC Which I am looking is 1 Ghz and 12 bit. I prefer Intel Altera FPGAs to communicate this ADC. Sometimes TI offers 2 EVM ( one for ADC and one for FPGA board) Or TI offers a single board EVM which includes ADC and FPGA together. 

I am looking for a cost effective solution. 

Ideal system Which I am looking for is Highest ADC with multiple inputs channel on EVM at the same time When I want, I would like to use a single channel with High sampling frequency.  Like if you have 6GHZ ADC, is there a possibility Which I can use 6 channel at 1 GHZ or a single Channel 6 GHZ option. 

Second, FPGA companies provides High END and Low END like Arria FPGAs(High END)  and Cyclone 10 GX FPGAs(Low END). But Cyclone 10 GX have also a very high end high Speed IOs. The advantage of Cyclone 10 GX FPGAs is that Their tool support ( Quartus Prime) is free. 

At the end, I am looking for your best device with Minimum cost with multiple use cases. 

In short, do you have a solution described above with your high speed ADCs with minimum cost for prototyping at the same time offers multiple channel minimum 1 ghz 12 bit with FPGA board included or together?

    Attached is a list of possible parts for your application. The ADC12DXX00 family of parts use a reference design board that includes the FPGA (Xilinx Virtex-4). All of the other EVM's are stand alone ADC only boards that require a second board. If it is one an older LVDS part, such as the ADS5400, it will require the TSW1400EVM (Altera Stratix 4) or the lower cost TSW1405EVM (Lattice FPGA). If it is one of the newer JESD204B parts, like the ADS54J20, it will require the TSW14J56EVM (Altera Arria V), TSW14J57EVM (Arria 10) or the lower cost TSW14J50EVM (Altera Arria V).

    The lowest cost option I think would be the ADC12D500RF EVM.
