ADS1018-Q1: FSR and LSB issue

Part Number: ADS1018-Q1

Dear team,

According to the relationship between FSR and LSB, the larger FSR, the smaller LSB. The smaller LSB means higher accuracy. If the input signal is 3.3V, I should choose the maxim FSR 6.144 to achieve higher accuracy, right?

In addition, what is the formula for FSR, reference voltage and AD output?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hi Sherry,

Actually, the inverse relationship is true: as FSR increases, LSB increases. Please refer to Table 1 in the ADS1018-Q1 datasheet for more information.

Therefore, you would likely want to choose the ADS1018-Q1's 4.096V FSR setting if your input signal can be up to 3.3V.

Finally, the data format (how to correlate input signal to output code) is shown in Table 3 in the ADS1018-Q1 datasheet.
