DLP3030Q1EVM: DLP3030Q1EVM

Part Number: DLP3030Q1EVM

Dear All,

As we know,"Maximum power can also depend on how well optimized the calibration routine was and the calibration data that was flashed onto the system. "

I want to know how to optimize the calibration routine and the calibration data that was flashed onto the system?

Parameters in the picture:(The power is 3W(current:0.25A    voltage:12V))

LDC Index=0;

Red:35173;

Green:50284;

Blue:38829;

Current Limit:59000;

Thanks,

Mr. Wang

  • Dear All,

    The power is 3W(current:0.25A    voltage:12V)when I set the max brightness using the following steps and entering 65535 into the backlight entry field and press set.

    If the sensor(the photodiode) is disconnected, the current can reach up to 20.4W(current:1.7A    voltage:12V), I want to know why.

    I want to know how to adjust it so that the sensor(the photodiode) is connected can also reach this power 20.4W(current:1.7A    voltage:12V.

    Thanks,

    Mr. Wang

  • Dear All,

    This document contains the records of the files we selected using the software.

  • I understand that the color analyzer CA-210 is needed in the process of writing programs, but we do not have this device at present. What impact will it bring? Will it affect the brightness?

  • Hello Mr. Wang,

    Thanks for all the information and detailed description about your queries. Our team will look into the query and get back to you by mid next week.

    Mayank

  • Dear All,

    I got a warning.

    "

    The config file loaded is not the file that was used during the creation of the cal file.
    Expected Flash Build Identifier: 0xB01111DF
    Using an incorrect config file can cause non-linear dimming and incorrect white-points.

    "

    Will this warning cause serious consequences? If so, how should I modify it?

    Thanks,

    Mr. Wang

  • Mr. Wang,

    Thanks for sharing additional information. We will get back to you by early next week.

  • Hi Mr. Wang,

    Sorry for the delayed response due to the Thanksgiving Holidays in the US.

    If you have bought a DLP3030Q1EVM directly from TI, it should already be calibrated and no further actions or optimizations would be required for basic demo and analysis.

    If you are wanting to look into recalibrating and optimizing the system, that will require some more time and resources. Please see the following guide on the TI calibration process.

    3730.DLPU066_Calibration_User_Guide_March2018 (3).pdf

    If the photodiode cable is disconnected, this breaks the photofeedback loop in the process of controlling the LEDs and will push the system further than it is supposed to go because there is no feedback from the photodiode signal. This should not be a normal operating condition of the system without some hardware modifications. You can read more about the LED driver control and feedback which includes the photodiode with this document.

    The CA210 is a color analyzer only used during the calibration routine and is not used during normal operation of the EVM but it is no longer available but you can purchase a CA410 which is the newer model. For the calibration process, a color analyzer like the CA410 is required.

    The warning message is because you updated the configuration file which was not necessary. Basically the EVM was calibrated with a certain configuration file but you have now uploaded a different configuration file different from the original. You can still operate the EVM but like the error says, it may affect some of the display.

    Where did you get the configuration and calibration file that you programmed onto your EVM from?

    Thanks,

    Alex Chan

  • Hello  Alex Chan,

             We download the configuration and calibration file that we programmed onto my EVM from www.ti.com/mysecuresoftware.

    Thanks,

    Mr. Wang

  • Hello  Alex Chan,

             OK,Our PGU maybe needs to re-correct the LED placement.

    Thanks,

    Mr. Wang

  • Hello Mr. Wang,

    Please let us know if the LED placement corrects the issue.

    Kindly,

    Austin
