DLPC3430: DLP2010

Part Number: DLPC3430
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP2010, DLPA2005, DLPA2000

Hello

Dear TI design partner

we are using DLP2010 (854 * 480) for the design of AR glasses,I refer to the DLP2010 EVM design on your official website,I designed a schematic diagram with DLP3430+DLPA2005 chips, but the input signal is the MIPI_DSI,please help to see if this part of the schematic drawing is correct and where is the GUI installation package downloaded?  I am click the "installer" ,but can not  find the download file.

Thanks very much !

  • Hello user,

Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP® technology!

Please allow us some days to review your schematic and come back to you.

For the DLP LightCrafter Display EVM GUI, please try to use the download link here. The latest version is v7.4.

    Regards,

    Lori

  • Hello User,

Regarding your schematic, only partial design for the DSI lanes are shown. the MIPI clock and data lanes appear to be coming from a reference off page. It is difficult to validate the design if we do not see the connection to a DSI front end.

Additionally, the DMD HS pins appear to be left floating. If this is the case in the final design, no pixel data will reach the DLP2010.

Please note that if I have not mentioned a specific part of this design it is not to say that it is validated. I have only looked at the section of schematic inquired after.

    Kind regards,
    Austin

  • Hi,dear TI_Engineer

Attached is the complete schematic of the DLP section, please check it out!

Also, I would like to ask whether DLPA2000 is more suitable than DLPA2005 for AR glasses applications?

I see this configuration from your firmware selector, is this more suitable for our application?

  • Hello User,

The general design for the DSI lanes appears correct. The interface is simple, only requiring traces from the DSI front end to the DLPC. Please note that I have not checked any other aspect of the schematic, the net names, or the compatibility of your DSI front end device. Routing requirements should be confirmed with the provider of your DSI front end.

Using either a DLPA2000 or DLPA2005 is common for AR applications. Very generally speaking, the DLPA2005 is capable of higher drive strengths for brighter output. This may not be required or desired for near-eye applications. I recommend looking into the datasheets to further explore the pros and cons of either PMIC for your use case.

The AR versions found on Composer may work well for you as they allow for dark time looks to allow for brightness control as well as reduction of power consumption through the LED's. Additional information about these firmware images can be found in their respective release notes.

    Regards,

    Austin

  • Okay, we will consider your suggestion
