DLPC3479: Can't display simple Internal pattern

Part Number: DLPC3479

Dear all,

I'm trying to use an E4750LC with an DLPC3479 display and light controller to display a simple pattern. Unfortunately when I try to do it I can't see the clear image, I see only vertical and horizontal bars alternating each other and then it stops. When I click the Run continuously it is having the same behaviour. When I click stop, I see a bar, but alway in another place.

Could you please advice me on what could be the issue?

A second question is what is the max Exposure time that could be set? In this case also if I change it, it stays the same.

Thank you,

Raffaele

  • Raffaele,

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

It looks like you are using the E4750LC EVM by EKB. Have you confirmed with them that this EVM part is compatible with the DLP Display and Light Control GUI? This GUI is designed for the DLP4710-LC EVM (by TI) so I am not familiar with whether EKB has ensured compatibility with our software.

If this EVM is not compatible with our GUI, you could also implement your patterns by replicating the necessary commands from the DLPC3479 Programmer's Guide:

  • Hi Philippe,

Thank you for you answer. From what they say the E4750LC EVM by EKB should be compatible to DLP Display Control GUI. It is displaying the test pattern but the Internal one is not working. I tried again and now is does not show anything, also not the vertical and horizontal bars. I'm now in contact with EKB to see if there are any suggestion from their side.

    Best regards,

    Raffaele

  • Hello Raffaele,

    Thank you for the update.

If EKB ensures that the E4750LC is compatible with our GUI, they may provide better insight into the configuration to do so.

Otherwise, the Programmer's Guide that Philippe mentions above will give you the control of the GUI without the interface.

    Kind regards,

    Austin
