This part shows up when I use the endpoint 'https://transact.ti.com/v2/store/products/SN74LVC1T45DRLR' but I receive a 500 error when I try to submit an order via the API. Also this form I am using to submit a new thread is telling me this part is invalid. How is this possible? And why do invalid part numbers cause a 500 error message to be thrown back to the user?
Thanks
Jeffery,
We noticed that you were successful in creating test orders, so, we are assuming that you identified and resolved your problem. Just to close on the 500 error code - we noticed that you did not have a complete JSON with the required fields (i.e. tiPartNumber, quantity). In the future, please refer to the Order API page for details on how to execute this API. If you are still experiencing problems (seeing the 500 error code), please reach out to us again.
Thanks for the help. Additionally I noticed that once orders went through, they show up on my apruve account despite using the /test endpoint on orders? Any idea why this is happening?
Hi Jeffery,
I only see that you've placed one production order. Maybe you accidently used the wrong API call. Can you confirm that you see more than one production order ? I will investigate further. Thanks!
Yes, I've only placed one production order. When using the API in sandbox I still use the same checkout profile, but I assumed that since it was the /test endpoint the apruve account would not be touched. Is this correct?
Also to be clear, it looks like the orders in sandbox on our apruve account start with "C" whereas the production orders start with "T"
Jeffery,
Yes, you are correct - the Apruve account will not be touched in the test order API.
Jeffery,
What begins with a "C" is your cartID. All orders (test and production) begin with a "T". Let me know if you need anything else or have any other questions!
Ok great, thanks for your help. Last question is should we be expecting an email from TI regarding the order that we made in production for confirmation / tracking?
Jeffery,
Yes, you are correct - the Apruve account will not be touched in the test order API.
Jeffery,
For API orders, you will not receive an email. For confirmation, you will need to look at the order details on ti.com to confirm. For other tracking (shipment tracking, commercial invoices, carrier details, etc...) you need to be sure to integrate the ASN PUSH API. If you do not integrate this API, you will have to manually look up the status for everything. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the help, sorry I had one more question which is the "limit" associated with a product. Is this the max number of that part that can be ordered?
Jeffery,
Questions are good, as long as it's not Friday at 5pm.
When we talk about product limit - yes, it is the max number of parts that a customer is allowed to purchase within a 30 day period OR until we stock up sufficiently to allow you to purchase more. This limit applies for both the APIs and TI store and will only be in place when inventory drops below a certain threshold, usually 500 units. At that point, we will protect the material to be used for design evaluation purposes Please refer to the FAQ - Is there any limit on how much of a product I can purchase? for more information. Please let me know if you have other questions or need help.
Regards,
Faye
