TUSB216I: We are interested when pin nº4 (SCL1/CD), used as OUPUT CD, detects a De-assert

Part Number: TUSB216I

Hello Team,

We want to know more detailed explanation about pin output CD.

In the datasheet, you explain this:
After reset: Output CD. Flag indicating that a USB device is attached
(connection detected). Asserted from an unconnected state upon
detection of DP or DM pull-up resistor. De-asserted upon detection of
disconnect.

But, we are interested what will happen in these cases:

If the 'end USB' fails ( it doesn't work), what will be the state of the CD?
If the PC is hang (windows blue screen), what will be the state of the CD?

Thanks!

  • Hi,

In the first case CD may be  high if USB HS enumeration starts but fails to complete. In some cases the "end USB" or USB device may not start the start the process in which case the CD pin will be low. IN a Blue screen case CD will most likely be low but may depend on the exact error that cases blue screen/system implementation.
