TPS25750 + BQ25792 charging not working if patch is loaded

We have identified a bug in the configuration tool and it's interaction with the GUI that is almost certainly causing this issue. 

I am aggressively working on getting an update completed and will update you as soon as I have an update.  What you will see is that the configuration GUI version will change to 7.03 once I have this issue resolved.

I have been monitoring this forum since the firmware issue was detected. I was trying to wait for the GUI to be updated, however I have product delivery deadlines that can't wait any longer.  I have two products that have been developed with earlier GUI versions and I would like to get updated binary files for final development.  Can you generate two files for me according to these JSON answers?

Thanks Chuck.  Based on other threads I've read, it looks like there was one more fix required in the firmware and you are expecting completion today or tomorrow.  Is this approximate timing correct?  I'm just trying to assess if you anticipate days or weeks.

I tried to load these JSON files into our tool, but they are not complete.

It may go faster if you just send me screen shots of the GUI for each of the configurations.  I am not sure why these are not complete.

Also, is this configuration for the EVM or your own hardware?  These JSONS do not have custom GPIO configurations.

1) The first configuration with the TPS25750 and BQ25792 that I provide previously is output from the GUI with the Standard Configuration (versus the "Advanced Configuration" in the GUI).  That's why the there are no additional configuration parameters that I believe you are referring to as missing.  This is my own hardware.  I have the I2Cm of the TPS25750 connected to the I2C of the BQ25792 and the I2Cs of the TPS25750 connected to my application MCU (a screen shot of the schematic section is pasted below the GUI screenshots).  I have the GPIO's tied to ground except for GPIO4 and GPIO5 which are tied to C_USB_P and C_USB_N respectively.  Therefore, I believe the GPIO's should all be disabled except for GPIO4 and GPIO5.  I'm loading the binary from a CAT24C256 EEPROM as a patch similar to the EVM.

The screen shots as selected are as follows.

2) The second configuration I sent you is a similar situation except there is no battery charger and it is to negotiate a sink only PDO at 60W (20V).

Thank you.  I can check these out right away, however, I have question on the SinkOnly bin.  Ideally, I want to contract the 20V PDO only.  My application requires the 20V PDO to be fully functional in conjunction with the DRV8935 driver.  i.e. I don't want to contract the 9V or 15V PDO's.  Does theTPS25750 need the 5V PDO to power the LDO_3V3 so it can load the patch from EEPROM?  If so is there a way to drop the 5V PDO contract after loading the patch?  If not, then I need the 20V PDO only if you could create another SinkOnly bin for me.

It is possible to drop the 9V and 15V.

I will confirm my understanding that we have to offer a 5V PDO and get back to you.

Did you get an answer about whether a 5V PDO has to be offered?  Either way, can you make a new bin file for me (it was the MarkMcColloughSinkOnly.bin).   If we have to offer the 5V PDO, then I need the bin configured with just the 5V and 20V.  If we don't have to offer the 5V PDO, then I need the bin configured with just the 20V.

Also, I started testing with the MarkMcColloughCharger.bin file and so far it seems to be working as expected.

I did find out that as a sink, you are not required to support a 5V PDO.  I can reconfigure the binary later to get this resolved for you.
