TCAN334G: Schematic design review

Part Number: TCAN334G
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN334

Hi Team,

Our customer will use TCAN334GDR for their application and would like to ask your help to review their schematic diagram before PCB fabrication. Here is the schematic diagram. There seems to be no error in the schematic diagram. Can you please confirm?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

It seems that the schematic symbol for TCAN334 is incorrect. Pins 5 and 8 for this device are Shutdown (SHDN) and Standby (STB) respectively. These are both digital inputs with internal pull-downs that are used for mode control. It would be fine to leave pin 5 disconnected if Shutdown mode is not required.

The other aspects of the schematic look good.

    • Decoupling capacitors included and valued appropriately.
    • Split capacitor included and valued appropriately.
    • Bus capacitors included and valued appropriately - ensure placement close to connector and along signal path.
    • TVS diode included - ensure placement close to connector and along signal path.
    • Termination resistors included correctly and valued appropriately.
    • All pull-up / series resistances are acceptable.

Let me know if there are any questions or concerns regarding the design or my notes.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott

  • Hi Eric,

Thank you very much for reviewing the schematic diagram. I have advised our customer to update the schematic symbol of TCAN344 to reflect the correct pin names.

    Regards,

    Danilo
