DS125BR800: Linker error in IBIS-AMI model

Part Number: DS125BR800

Hi,

I'm having trouble using the IBIS-AMI model in an ADS simulation.

I get the following error when starting a simulation using the IBIS model including the example project:

Error detected by hpeesofsim in DS125BRxxx_Rx_AMI during netlist flattening.
Unable to load AMI library '/localstore/basvdh/ads_proj/ibis/TI_DS125BR800_IBIS_AMI_v2/Example_Projects/Agilent_ADS_2011.10/data/DS125BRxxx_Rx_11_2012_x64.so'.
Please check in your IBIS file whether AMI library (DLL)
for the 64-bit Linux platform is specified and
whether it is stored in the same folder as the IBIS file.
Linker Error: '/localstore/basvdh/ads_proj/ibis/TI_DS125BR800_IBIS_AMI_v2/Example_Projects/Agilent_ADS_2011.10/data/DS125BRxxx_Rx_11_2012_x64.so: undefined symbol: s_Fini'

I'm not sure how to fix this as I can't find anything this s_Fini library?

I'm using ADS 2022.1 on Redhat 8.6

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Bas.

  • Hi Bas,

I just used ADS 2020 and was able to do the simulation(note eye diagram below). I think this could be related to the ADS revision and perhaps operating system. We validate these models in window and this one with ADS 2020. Perhaps maybe some file path in your setup may not be set accordingly.

    Regards,Nasser

  • Hello Nasser,

Thank you for your answer. I can confirm the model works properly under Windows.

I'm still interested in using Linux due to the way we have set up our simulation environment. We have a fast server dedicated to ADS simulations. Sometimes it's not practical to switch to Windows because of node locked license features or in my case an ASIC design kit.

The OS I'm using is officially supported by ADS so I think the .so should just work. I get the same error when using ADS2020 by the way.

    Kind regards,

    Bas.

  • Hi Bas,

I had expected using ADS 2020 in Window or Linux should have work the same way. However, we validate these models in window environment and it is possible in Linux environment there is some inconsistency.
