Just a quick question on the Pin Assignments in Mirror Mode.
I understand "Mirror" mode remaps the PHYs MDI pins to correlate to a mirrored RJ-45 connector.
[1]
Section 8.4.6.6 Mirror Mode from the DP83867IR datasheet has two tables - Mirror Port Configurations for MDI Modes (MII and GMII)
Assuming the RJ-45 connector is flipped, I see the DP83867IR pin mappings changing as follows.
(i.e. TD_P_A (A+) becomes TD_M_D (D-) when Mirrored = Enabled)
Is my understanding/pin mapping as shown in the above image accurate?
[2]
Again, regarding the same p45 tables discussing Mirror Port Configurations.
They mention MDIX configurations being supported as well.
I understand MDIX is crossing A/B and C/D(GigE) of MDI to the Connector.
If so, then why does the Datasheet list the same configuration for both MDI and MDIX?
If you refer to my attached image (above) I have listed the supposed MDIX Mirrored config in Blue.
Are the p45 tables incorrect? Or are they indicating the default MDIX pin assign before the Auto-MDIX negotiation described in 8.4.3.9 Auto-MDIX Resolution on p41?

Darren
Hi Darren,
My understanding is also the same as yours in the image above. Let me check with our team on what is the intent of mapping in the datasheet.

Hi Darren,
Mirror mode is TI specific implementation.
The intention to put the mapping in the datasheet is to show what is done up and above the IEEE standard. After this mapping change, MDI/MDIX will further change the mapping. I agree that the intent was not properly brought in the datasheet. Let me work with our datasheet team to make this clear.
