Hi Kevin,

The description of this test is very vague. I understand you are creating a short at various locations on the cable, and expecting the DUT to detect and report an error. However, the document does not describe how you are doing this. 

I have never seen this "Interoperability Tests v1.02" program before. Is it a proprietary program, and what exactly is it doing? Are you reading any registers on the PHY to look for errors? Are you using the TDR feature of the PHY?
