TCAN1462-Q1: UVcc(f) delay

Part Number: TCAN1462-Q1

Hi team,

Could you advise following two parameter of TCAN1462-Q1?

#1. max value of UVcc(f)

#2. delay from UVcc(f) detecttion to the device falls into protected status.

regards,

  • Hi Shinji,

The undervoltage detection will not trigger while the supply voltage is within the recommended range, so the max UVcc(f) is effectively 4.5V. However, the majority of devices will only recognise an undervoltage condition around 4V. We guarantee that all devices under all other recommended conditions will recognise an undervoltage once the supply drops below 3.5V.

Once an undervoltage condition is detected, a transition to the protected mode will begin immediately. The time for this mode change will effectively be tMODE (<30us).

In the case that the Vcc supply drops outside of the recommended supply range, we cannot guarantee any driver characteristics so any communication during this time cannot be assured. If this question is regarding operation of the device during a supply fault condition, I would recommend implementing a system-level solution that will keep the Vcc supply within recommended ranges during the fault to ensure proper CAN communication can continue as we cannot guarantee the transceiver will remain compliant to CAN requirements if the supply drops out of range for any amount of time.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
