Hi Team,

We need to know the power consumption CAN SBC (TCAN1167-Q1). This CAN has internal LDO, so it seems it will dissipate the more power. Below are our circuit inputs. Please let us know how to calculate the power dissipation of CAN SBC at typ & Max. Also provide the formuals for calculation

VSup - Typ-12V, Ma-18V and Vccout we are not using externally. Assume 50% dominate &Recessive

Hi Gunasekar,

The maximum current from the 5V LDO in TCAN1167 is 100mA. The power additional power dissipation for the LDO will depend on the supply voltage at Vsup. The voltage drop to reach 5V multiplied by the current draw from the LDO will result in the power dissipation of the LDO.

Please see the E2E post liked below for more information on calculating the power requirements of an active CAN transceiver. Note that the current required for the transceiver will also be coming from the LDO (separate from the 100mA spec), so this current will also need to be multiplied by the voltage drop from Vsup to 5V.

Also we required the IBIS model for TCN1167 for SI simulation of SPI lines. Please confirm for availability for IBIS model
