SN65HVD1782: Propagation Delay

Good Day.

Can you provide the TYP value of the propagation delay?

The datasheet only gives the MAX value.

Can you provide lot test data of the propagation delay of SN65HVD1782?

We need to know the TYP value and the distribution histogram.

    We only specified the max data for this device - we don't have any typical data to share.

    That being said - customer should design w.r.t. max conditions on timing - not typical - if the system can not handle potential timing values that this part can produce it opens up the system for failure.

    If they want to fine tune their systems - its going to be extremely dependent on their layout and they need to test within their systems.

    Good Day. Please see below the response of our customer to your reply. Thank you very much.

    We are measuring the total delay (D_total) of a circuit with an SN65HVD1782 driver and an SN65HVD1782 receiver in the loop. The goal for the measurement is to calculate the delay of the rest of the circuit (D_rest) without the SN65HVD1782 driver and receiver in the loop. D_rest = D_total - D_driver - D_receiver. To achieve that, we must know the typical + distribution or the minimum delay of SN65HVD1782.

    I understand why your customer would want the typical distribution - that makes sense.

    I have found some data that should give an idea on the information requested - we still didn't specify a typ/min in the datasheet so this information is accurate but not something that we guarantee.

    I will need to follow up with you offline as this information isn't something I can post on the public forum and I need to verify that I can share the data with you.
