Hi TI Guru,

I am using TUSB4020BI as a USB hub in my design, I am using it just as simple hub.

I am using I2C master without external EEPROM.

I didnt use the PWRCTLx as the downstream is permanently attached when power on.

Overcurx as well is just a pull high to make sure no overcurrent happen.

I attached sample connection over here and please help review it.

How is your downstream device working? Need Vbus?

Hi Brian,

DN1 is in sleep mode and ON when detect upstream VBUS, may refer to FX2_WAKEUP. We also reserve a permanent ON feature to tie to permanent ON supply.

DN2 is permanent ON.

Any issue on this connection to the USB hub?

maybe you need to do same thing on DN2.

Hi Brian,

DN2 will implement a detection circuitry similar DN1, detect upstream VBUS to turn on. Should I utilize PWRCTLx for the detection?

Do you have other comments on my connection on TUSB4020BI?

yes, prefer to use PWRCTLx to control downstream Vbus. Also it is required if you need to pass USB compliance test.
