TCA9517-Q1: I2C Buffer

Part Number: TCA9517-Q1

Hello,

How to do a power estimation for this part, if we using this part as an  i2c buffer.

1.8V at VCCA and 3.3V at VCCB

Pull up value 4.7 at both sides.

  • Hey Sobin,

The power consumption for this device can be found under 7.5 Electrical Characteristics. It is characterized for the worst case where VCCB is situated at 5.25V, while VCCA is not taken into consideration since it typ. consumes current in the uA range.

During idle state (SDA/ SCL lines HIGH) and low state, we can expect a maximum of 5mA of current consumption. If lower power consumption is required, please see the TCA9800 device, but please note that the pullup resistors on B- side are no longer needed due to its internal current source architecture.

    Regards,

    Jack
